Dawn of Nausea

A monolithic black block of foam was shot at various locations in the Copenhagen area. The monolith was placed randomly in the scenery and the camera was turned to align the monolith with the edges of the picture. The monolith becomes a guide for doing landscape photography. It directs the pictures and the landscape becomes secondary.

There is a connection between this work and the work Spheres. Spheres is basically an exploration of scale. Dawn of Nausea explores orientation and alignment. Together they form a kind of photographic spatial experiment.
