Corners
2012

The corners of various museum pedestals. Photographed from exactly the same angle, mirrored and juxtaposed. The idea is to take something concrete physical like a pedestal and turn it into a more abstract visual expression while still maintaining some kind of tactility. It is interesting to focus on the pedestal and use them as components for creating an artwork. The pedestal is normally just a platform for displaying artworks. I would like to elevate them to become the artwork itself. By photographing only the corners, the pedestals lose their scale and context and become abstract graphic expressions.
